Fish roes
Salted roes are produced primarily during the winter fisheries. Large quantities of cod arriving at the coast to spawn allow to make a variety of different roe products such as salted and sugar salted roe. Sugar salted roe holds about 12 % salt and some sugar. Hard-cured roe is fully salted and holds between 16 to 20% salt. Both products are packed in barrels of 100kg net weight. Mowinckel offer both frozen at sea roe and land frozen product. Roe from cod, capelin, haddock, saithe and tusk are available.
Mackerel & herring
Mackerel and herring are caught in the Atlantic Ocean. The fish is usually caught by purse seiner, trawler or by hook (angling). Our company offer these pelagic species round/whole frozen, frozen filletflaps and frozen single fillets.
In addition we offer smoked and hardsalted herring.
As the fat content for both mackerel and herring carries seasonal variations the buyer is advised to quantity the level of fatcontent desired. Fatter fish is usually considered ideal for smoking while pickling or salting requires fish with a lower fat content.
Fish
Our company offer a wide range of frozen fish products. From white fish (h&g) to fillets packed for catering, whole round herring and mackerel to fillets of such packed in block or interleaved/shatterpack. In addition we offer light salted fillets and smoked products (cod,haddock and norwegian salmon).
